"And God spake all these words, saying, I [am] the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
(EXODUS 20:1-3)
There is only one God and His name is YHWH,
And God said unto Moses, I AM THAT I AM: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I AM hath sent me unto you. And God said moreover unto Moses, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, The LORD God of your fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath sent me unto you: this [is] my name for ever, and this [is] my memorial unto all generations. (EXODUS 3:14-15)
The Lord God our Father is, always was, and will ever be. Through His Word, Spirit and Light for all eternity. There is no other god, than God alone, for all other gods are merely a creation of man. Only in God there is Life.
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not anything made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. (JOHN 1:1-5)
Become a true follower of the Father in spirit and truth, the time is now.
But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God [is] a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship [him] in spirit and in truth. (JOHN 4:23-24)
Follow His commandments and find the true knowledge of God.
My son, if thou wilt receive my words, and hide my commandments with thee; So that thou incline thine ear unto wisdom, [and] apply thine heart to understanding; Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, [and] liftest up thy voice for understanding; If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as [for] hid treasures; Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God. (PROVERBS 2:1-5)
Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this [is] the whole [duty] of man. For God shall bring every work into judgment, with every secret thing, whether [it be] good, or whether [it be] evil. (ECCLESIASTES 12:13-14)
"Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness [of anything] that [is] in heaven above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth:"
(EXODUS 20:4)
Don’t be deceived by false idols made by men. God cannot be comprehended in an image nor any standing statue, how skilled or beautiful it may be to the visual eye. Don’t be fooled and bow down to any manmade representation of divinity. Praise the Lord God in spirit and truth only.
Turn ye not unto idols, nor make to yourselves molten gods: I [am] the LORD your God. (LEVITICUS 19:4)
Ye shall make you no idols nor graven image, neither rear you up a standing image, neither shall ye set up [any] image of stone in your land, to bow down unto it: for I [am] the LORD your God. (LEVITICUS 26:1)
Be aware that there are many religions, churches and self-professed “Christians” violating this law every day, mostly even without realizing this.
They shall be turned back, they shall be greatly ashamed, that trust in graven images, that say to the molten images, Ye [are] our gods. Hear, ye deaf; and look, ye blind, that ye may see. (ISAIAH 42:17-18)
They that make a graven image [are] all of them vanity; and their delectable things shall not profit; and they [are] their own witnesses; they see not, nor know; that they may be ashamed. Who hath formed a god, or molten a graven image [that] is profitable for nothing? (ISAIAH 44:9-10)
Assemble yourselves and come; draw near together, ye [that are] escaped of the nations: they have noknowledge that set up the wood of their graven image, and pray unto a god [that] cannot save. (ISAIAH 45:20)
Therefore, behold, the days come, that I will do judgment upon the graven images of Babylon: and her whole land shall be confounded, and all her slain shall fall in the midst of her. (JEREMIAH 51:47)
But why do so many churches nowadays allow idol worship?
Was it intended to give visual aid for those who could not read during the dark ages? Or bluntly willful error and deception, whereby gradually former pagan multi-god-worship systems easily integrated within Christianity?
A debate and struggle fought over many years. But it was the second council of Nicaea in the year 787, that made God’s second eternal law completely void as to allow idol worship. A doctrine of men.
Although Catholic’s own translated Latin bible, the Vulgate, marks clearly the strict obedience to non-idolatry.
Non facies tibi sculptile, neque omnem similitudinem quæ est in cælo desuper, et quæ in terra deorsum, nec eorum quæ sunt in aquis sub terra. (Vulgate: Exodus 20:4) [direct translation: Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.]
The Vulgate was pre-dominantly used as the only reference for the Catholics from the 4th century AD up and until 1979. Besides many additions, mistranslations from Hebrew to Latin, the original commandments were still intact.
Ask yourself why nowadays true followers of faith seem to abide by church doctrine above the Word of God? A sad evolution and err.
Largely spread erratic Catholic doctrine & Catechisms falsified God’s law, making law of man instead. Deceiving many, still up unto this day.
Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four footed beasts, and creeping things. (ROMANS 1:22-23)
But man cannot change the eternal laws of God. Particularly for this reason and to safeguard His Holy Laws, God wrote the 10 commandments in stone with His own finger, not to be erased nor changed. Never.
And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God. (EXODUS 31:18)
These commandments were placed inside the ark of the covenant, signifying their highest importance as opposed to other and more ceremonial laws.
And he took and put the testimony into the ark, and set the staves on the ark, and put the mercy seat above upon the ark: (EXODUS 40:20)
Don’t believe it is harmless to worship through idols as long as you honour God. It was the ultimate goal of the Great Deceiver, to lead mankind away from their direct connection with God, to something, someone else, or even to self, thinking one can be, or become as God.
And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which [is] in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.(GENESIS 3:2-5)
It was the greatest deception for mankind, the first sin and losing hereby eternal life. Let’s not make the same mistake again. Become a clean and purified temple for God, whereby the Holy Spirit can guide and help you to do good.
Those believing they can be as gods or leading others to worship idols are following the same path as the proud and self-proclaimed god, but fallen Babylonian king, Nebuchadnezzar.
Question remains, if you will be as strong now, as those young Hebrew men then, and worship God in faith alone.
If it be [so,] our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver [us] out of thine hand, O king. But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up. (DANIEL 3:17-18)
Do remain strong.
And we know that we are of God, and the whole world lieth in wickedness. [And] we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, [even] in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life. Little children, keep yourselves from idols. Amen.(1 JOHN 5:19-21)
"Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain."
(EXODUS 20:7)
Be respectful towards God. Always.
Don’t use His name to swear, nor for profane use to amplify significance over earthly matters. Use God’s name to praise Him.
I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise [shall] continually [be] in my mouth. My soul shall make her boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear [thereof,] and be glad. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together. I sought the LORD, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. (PSALMS 34:1-4)
Let them praise the name of the LORD: for his name alone is excellent; his glory [is] above the earth and heaven. (PSALMS 148:13)
Be humble and meek, because maybe one day you will also stand in the shoes of Moses. God does demand respect when dealing over heavenly matters.
And when the LORD saw that he turned aside to see, God called unto him out of the midst of the bush, and said, Moses, Moses. And he said, Here [am] I. And he said, Draw not nigh hither: put off thy shoes from off thy feet, for the place whereon thou standest is holy ground. (EXODUS 3:4-5)
Remember and study the lessons of obedience and respect given to us in His Word. Even the brave and maybe helpful, but yet disobedient Uzzah, was made as an example for many.
And when they came to Nachon’s threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth [his hand] to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook [it]. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for [his] error; and there he died by the ark of God. (2 SAMUEL 6:6-7)
God does not go lightly over general directions given, how the more for His eternal commandments?
Just be aware that severe transgression against God’s name will not be forgiven. Thus be careful and respectful. Ever.
He that is not with me is against me; and he that gathereth not with me scattereth abroad. Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy [against] the [Holy] Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the [world] to come. (MATTHEW 12:30-32)
"Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: For [in] six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them [is,] and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it."
(EXODUS 20:8-11)
Holy the Sabbath by honouring God and keep rest.
Blessed [is] the man [that] doeth this, and the son of man [that] layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbathfrom polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. (ISAIAH 56:2)
Be aware that the Sabbath is not a Jewish tradition, it was already established from the constitution of this world as the sanctified day of the week, for God and all mankind.
And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made. (GENESIS 2:2-3)
Sabbath, the seventh day of the week, was, is and shall always remain, on Saturday.
Even up till today, the word 'Sabbath' is used for 'Saturday' in more than +100 languages in the world. Many languages without any origin in ancient Hebrew. Moreover, in these languages, there is no single replacement word for 'rest', than 'Sabbath'.
The very word ‘Sabbath’, means ‘rest’.
But the seventh day [is] the sabbath of the LORD thy God: [in it] thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that [is] within thy gates: (EXODUS 20:10)
Despite the fact that calendars changed, years counted differently around the world using moon- or sun cycles or different starting points, the 7 days of the week did not change from the times of Moses and where already kept as from ancient Babylonian times. You can check it out. The week as we know it now, is exactly the same for everyone world-wide. Although man tried to establish different ‘week ‘systems, they did not prevail.
Remember that also Jesus, Lord of the Sabbath, taught and learned on the Sabbath.
And they went into Capernaum; and straightway on the sabbath day he entered into the synagogue, and taught. And they were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one that had authority, and not as the scribes. (MARK 1:21-22)
And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (MARK 2:27-28)
And he reasoned in the synagogue every sabbath, and persuaded the Jews and the Greeks. (ACTS 18:4)
But why do so many churches celebrate Sunday, the first day of the week, as a substitute of the biblical Sabbath?
Actually it is a manmade ‘Sabbath’ with no single validation in the Holy Scripture. Even the apostles and early Christian church leaders, all respected the Sabbath on the seventh day of the week.
It was emperor Constantine of the Roman empire who changed the law of God, making it a law of men.
Codex Justiniani, book III, title XII, sec 3.12.2 (3):
(Annotated Justinian Code from Fred H. Blume, attorney and Wyoming Supreme Court Justice)
Emperor Constantine to Helpidius. All judges and the people in the city should rest, and the work in all the crafts should cease, on the holy Sunday. But the people in the country may freely and lawfully apply themselves to the culture of the fields, since it often happens that grain can be sown in the furrows and vines planted in the trenches on no better day, so that the benefit conferred by the providence of God may not perish with the opportunity of the moment. Promulgated March 3 (321).
Making a false day of worship forced upon men, by human law. But why Sunday?
Not because it was the day of the Lord, but because it was already a day which was worshipped by Sun-worshippers, having a Sun-God as supreme deity over all the other deities.
By the way, did the original Latin text state ‘holy’?
Omnes iudices urbanaeque plebes et artium officia cunctarum venerabili die solis quiescant. ruri tamen positi agrorum culturae libere licenterque inserviant, quoniam frequenter evenit, ut non alio aptius die frumenta sulcis aut vineae scrobibus commendentur, ne occasione momenti pereat commoditas caelesti provisione concessa. * const. a. helpidio. * <a 321 pp. v non. mart. crispo ii et constantino ii conss.>
No.
“Venerabili die solis”, means “venerable day of the sun”
Venerable to whom? Indeed, the sun. A false worship, because the sun is not God Himself, but created by Him for us.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. (GENESIS 1:3-5)
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. (GENSIS 1:14-15)
Reading further within the Codex Justiniani, we can see that other religious holidays were originated here as well, like the natal day of Christ or the commemorative days for the apostles.
3.12.6 (7). Emperors Valentinian, Theodosius and Arcadius to Albinus, City Prefect. We order that all days shall be court days. 1. Only those days shall remain as days of vacation which each year, for a period of two months, indulgently gives to rest from labor, in order to mitigate the summer heat, and to gather the autumnal fruits. 2. We also give over to leisure the usual days at the beginning of each year. 3. We add to these the natal days of the great cities of Rome and Constantinople, during which the legal proceedings, which own their origin to them, should be deferred. We also add the holy pascal days, seven preceding and seven succeeding Easter, also the natal day of Christ and the day of Epiphany and the time during which the suffering of the apostles, the teachers of all Christianity, is rightly commemorated; and these holy days shall not be open to shows. 4. Sundays, too, which the ancients rightly named the Lord’s days and which return at regular intervals, shall be put in this class. 5. An equal reverence shall be paid to the days which marked our birth and the beginning of our reign, and on these days no examination of disputes shall be made before referees, whether appointed by judges upon request or by the choice of the parties. 6. During the fifteen days of Easter, the exaction of all taxes in kind and of all public and private debts shall be deferred. Given at Rome August 8 (389). C. Th. 2.8.2.
Besides, who did call the Sunday the day of the Lord? The “ancients”? Who were the ancients? Thus by tradition? Is this biblical?
You know the answer.
Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain. [GALATIANS 4:10-11]
More importantly the emperor makes it very clear ‘who’ decrees … and it is not God.
3.12.9 (11). Emperors Leo and Anthemius to Armasius, Praetorian Prefect. We do not want the festal days, the days dedicated to the highest majesty, to be taken up with pleasures, or profaned by the vexations of collections. 1. We decree that the sacred Lord’s day shall always be honored and venerated and not used to execute any orders. No summons shall disturb anyone; no exaction for suretyship shall be made; the apparitors shall be silent; let advocates hide; 3 examinations shall not be made on that day; the harsh voice of the crier shall not be heard; litigants shall rest from controversies and have a moment of peace; let adversaries go to each other without fear, let reciprocal penitence enter the minds; let pacts be made and compromises speak loudly. 2. But while facilitating rest on this day, dedicated to God, we permit no one to give himself over to unseemly pleasures. The day shall not be open for the theater, the strife of the circus, or the tearful spectacle of wild beasts. If our birthday or the day when we came to the throne should fall on Sunday, its celebration shall be deferred. 3. If anyone attends the spectacles on that day, or if any apparitor of a judge rashly violated the provisions of this law under the pretext of public or private business, he shall suffer the loss of his office and confiscation of his goods. Given at Constantinople December 9 (469).
Making an easy, yet deceitful transition, mass-converting pagan sun worshippers to “Christianity” without having to change their own traditional day of worship … the Sunday.
And he shall speak [great] words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.(DANIEL 7:25)
Still non-biblical doctrine nowadays tries to proclaim the Sabbath day to be changed in the “day of the Lord Jesus Christ”, as He resurrected on the first day.
Unfortunately, this is teaching of men.
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. (MATTHEW 24:11-13)
This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with [their] lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching [for] doctrines the commandments of men. (MATTHEW 15:8-9)
It is clear from scripture that “the Lord’s day”, is the Sabbath. Set by the Lord Himself, not to be changed by tradition or so called 'early church fathers'.
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath. (MARK 2:28)
For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day. (MATTHEW 12:8)
And he said unto them, That the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.(LUKE 6:5)
If thou turn away thy foot from the sabbath,[from] doing thy pleasure on my holy day; and call the sabbath a delight, the holy of the LORD, honourable; and shalt honour him, not doing thine own ways, nor finding thine own pleasure, nor speaking [thine own] words: (ISAIAH 58:13)
Jesus made it very clear from the beginning, with no room for interpretation, that no single jot nor title shall be changed of the law, till all be fulfilled.
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them,] the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed [the righteousness] of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven. (MATTHEW 5:17-20)
For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, [even] our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God? This is he that came by water and blood, [even] Jesus Christ; not by water only, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit that beareth witness, because the Spirit is truth. For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one. If we receive the witness of men, the witness of God is greater: for this is the witness of God which he hath testified of his Son. (1 JOHN 5:3-9)
Did the heaven and the earth already pass?
You know the answer.
Furthermore, ask yourself why Jesus, when predicting the fall of Jerusalem by the Roman empire in 70 AD (and more importantly future prophetic events still to come), would hope that the escape of His disciples would not be on a Sabbath day?
Because He knew that His disciples would still keep the Sabbath ...
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (MATTHEW 24:15-21)
Will there be a Sabbath in the heavens as well?
Yes.
Let us therefore fear, lest, a promise being left [us] of entering into his rest, any of you should seem to come short of it. For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard [it. ] For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. For he spake in a certain place of the seventh [day] on this wise, And God did rest the seventh day from all his works. And in this [place] again, If they shall enter into my rest. Seeing therefore it remaineth that some must enter therein, and they to whom it was first preached entered not in because of unbelief: Again, he limiteth a certain day, saying in David, To day, after so long a time; as it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts. For if Jesus had given them rest, then would he not afterward have spoken of another day. There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God [did] from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. For the word of God [is] quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and [is] a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things [are] naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do. Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast [our] profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as [we are, yet] without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. (HEBREWS 4:1-16)
The Sabbath is not only a restful but also a joyful day to honour and celebrate God. Furthermore, avoiding work on the Sabbath day, does not mean to neglect helping others in real distress. Ask yourself rather this question, ‘doing so, will I keep respect to the Lord’?
And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? And they held their peace. And he took [him,] and healed him, and let him go; And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? And they could not answer him again to these things. (LUKE 14:3-6)
Remember, His Sabbath is, and will be a sign between you and God Himself. Don’t forget.
And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I [am] the LORD your God. (EZEKIEL 20:20)
So be very careful when making your choice to honour and celebrate Him and remember, or one obeys the commandments of God or of men. But you cannot serve two masters at the same time.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.(MATTHEW 6:24)
And they worshipped the dragon which gave power unto the beast: and they worshipped the beast, saying, Who [is] like unto the beast? who is able to make war with him? And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty [and] two months. And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven. And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations. And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. If any man have an ear, let him hear. (REVELATION 13:4-9)
However and despite all warnings, reproof and biblical teaching among us, always remember not to lose sight of charity for each other. Be kind.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become [as ]sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have [the gift of] prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. (1 Corinthians:13:1-2)
Everyone who is in Christ has his or her own merits and contribution to His working. Each reflecting His light at their best capacity and knowledge at that moment in time. All in due time, some sooner, some later. So never judge one another.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath [days: ] Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body [is] of Christ. (Colossians 2:16-17)
Nonetheless, don’t let anyone teach you otherwise neither.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach [them,] the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. (MATTHEW 5:19)
You should know by now.
Maybe it is difficult for you to honour the Sabbath on the seventh day?
It is obvious that law of men and tradition makes it much more easier to celebrate and rest from work on the Sunday (not even speaking of a possible ‘forced’ Sunday law for all). Would it not be just as fine to have at least any day, as long as we celebrate Him? Wouldn’t it be so much more convenient in this world?
No doubt.
But His kingdom is not of this world.
Ask yourselves this: If your loved one gives you a second chance to make things right again and invites you for diner at her or his house on Wednesday, will you show up on Thursday?
Avoid disappointments.
Maybe more than you would like to admit, having real faith is also about respect and obedience to God. No matter what the consequences are or what the world tells you to do. Have faith and trust in His Word.
Will He not take care for you?
"Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee."
(EXODUS 20:12)
Honour, respect & listen to your parents. The Holy scripture makes it very clear that parents and family in a broader perspective are very important for the child’s spiritual guidance, education and growth. Sometimes one cannot see the immediate purpose of reproof given by their loving parents, especially for young adolescents, but rest assured they are looking out for the benefit of their beloved ones.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord: for this is right. Honour thy father and mother; (which is the first commandment with promise;) That it may be well with thee, and thou mayest live long on the earth. And, ye fathers, provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. (EPHESIANS 6:1-4)
My son, keep thy father’s commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, [and] tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and [when] thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. For the commandment [is] a lamp; and the law [is] light; and reproofs of instruction [are] theway of life: (PROVERBS 6:20-23)
The fear of the LORD [is] the beginning of knowledge: [but] fools despise wisdom and instruction. My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: For they [shall be] an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck. (PROVERBS 1:7-9)
The only exception when children do not need to obey their parents is when the request goes against the will of God. When a parent, not knowing nor loving God, for example asks one of its children to steal, no obedience is required.
Read well that children need to obey their parents "in the Lord". Thus in full compliance with the Lord's guidelines given in His Word.
Even without parents, no child should feel lost or left alone.
When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up. (PSALMS 27:10)
What a wonderful promise!
Certainly for those unfortunate children within families without real faith, respect and care for each other. For Jesus considers all His followers and doers of the will of the Father, as His own family.
Then one said unto him, Behold, thy mother and thy brethren stand without, desiring to speak with thee. But he answered and said unto him that told him, Who is my mother? and who are my brethren? And he stretched forth his hand toward his disciples, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! For whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my brother, and sister, and mother. (MATTHEW 12:47-50)
For whosoever shall do the will of God, the same is my brother, and my sister, and mother. (MARK 3:35)
"Thou shalt not kill."
(EXODUS 20:13)
Life is the most precious gift our Father gives this world. How the more should we not take care and preserve it? Life cannot be made by man, it will never be. Only God can create, give and ultimately take life back again.
Remember, we are created unto His likeliness. So how the more precious our life could be for Him?
So God created man in his [own] image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.(GENESIS 1:27)
It goes without say that killing another human being is in direct violation with His spirit. Rest assured, all will be held accountable for taking life away, directly or indirectly.
We are here to cherish life and to take care for the animals as well, as they were placed under the guidance and dominion of man.
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.(GENESIS 1:28)
With supervision and rule over all that lived, comes also a large responsibility which does not seem to include to kill, less harm them. In essence, we are just the same all together, in life and spirit from God.
I said in mine heart, God shall judge the righteous and the wicked: for [there is] a time there for every purpose and for every work. I said in mine heart concerning the estate of the sons of men, that God might manifest them, and that they might see that they themselves are beasts. For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all [is] vanity. All go unto one place; all are of the dust, and all turn to dust again. Who knoweth the spirit of man that goeth upward, and the spirit of the beast that goeth downward to the earth? Wherefore I perceive that [there is] nothing better, than that a man should rejoice in his own works; for that [is] his portion: for who shall bring him to see what shall be after him? (ECCLESIASTES 3:17-22)
God’s initial plan in Paradise was a complete vegetarian diet for all living things on the earth. Seeds, vegetables and fruits for man, plants for the animals.
And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which [is] upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which [is] the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to everything that creepeth upon the earth, wherein [there is] life, [I have given] every green herb for meat: and it was so.(GENESIS 1:29-30)
Note that “for meat” means “for food”, not meat itself. So can humankind nowadays not survive without killing and/or eating animals?
Of course we can.
But don’t judge others who believe otherwise. It is a matter of choice. Every single one of us has to put his or her own considerations and arguments into the weighting scale. Set your own personal diet boundary directly with God. But make no mistake and do thereafter not transgress your own promises made.
Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, [but] not to doubtful disputations. For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him. Who art thou that judgest another man’s servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day [alike.] Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth [it] unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard [it.] He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. For none of us liveth to himself, and no man dieth to himself. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord’s. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, [As] I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in [his] brother’s way. I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that [there is] nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth anything to be unclean, to him [it is] unclean. But if thy brother be grieved with [thy] meat, now walkest thou not charitably. Destroy not him with thy meat, for whom Christ died. Let not then your good be evil spoken of: For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. For he that in these things serveth Christ [is] acceptable to God, and approved of men. Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed [are] pure; but [it is] evil for that man who eateth with offence. [It is] good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor [anything] whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak. Hast thou faith? have [it] to thyself before God. Happy [is] he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth. And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because [he eateth] not of faith: for whatsoever [is] not of faith is sin. (ROMANS 14:1-23)
Note however that meat was only added to our diet after the fall of man and sin against God.
And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth. And the fear of you and the dread of you shall be upon every beast of the earth, and upon every fowl of the air, upon all that moveth [upon] the earth, and upon all the fishes of the sea; into your hand are they delivered. Every moving thing that liveth shall be meat for you; even as the green herb have I given you all things. But flesh with the life thereof, [which is] the blood thereof, shall ye not eat. And surely your blood of your lives will I require; at the hand of every beast will I require it, and at the hand of man; at the hand of every man’s brother will I require the life of man. Whoso sheddeth man’s blood, by man shall his blood be shed: for in the image of God made he man. And you, be ye fruitful, and multiply; bring forth abundantly in the earth, and multiply therein.(GENSIS 9:1-7)
And besides diet reflections, do not forget that it is way much more important what comes out of your mouth, than that what goes in …
There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him: but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.(MARKUS 7:15-16)
(Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.(COLOSSIANS 2:21-23)
So you can eat vegetarian and try to live up to the plan God initially had in mind for man? Or you may eat meat nonetheless, depending on each individual conviction with respect to God, without finger pointing to one another.
There is only one exception on any of your diet considerations.
Do not eat nor drink (real) blood.
[It shall be] a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood. (LEVITICUS 3:17)
Moreover ye shall eat no manner of blood, [whether it be] of fowl or of beast, in any of your dwellings. Whatsoever soul [it be] that eateth any manner of blood, even that soul shall be cut off from his people. (LEVITICUS 7:26-27)
Because the blood, is the life.
For [it is] the life of all flesh; the blood of it [is] for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh [is] the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off. (LEVITICUS 17:14)
Only be sure that thou eat not the blood: for the blood [is] the life; and thou mayest not eat the life with the flesh. (DEUTERONOMY 12:23)
And the life is with God.
For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. And there are three that bear witness in earth, the spirit, and the water, and the blood: and these three agree in one.(1 JOHN 5:7-8)
"Thou shalt not commit adultery."
(EXODUS 20:14)
Keep your marriage vows and remain honest in expressing your feelings towards each other. Faithfulness is your expression of true love and devotion, it should never become a burden. When harmony within your relation seems lost, communicate with each other and try to resolve problems before things get out of control. Breaching promises made, will hurt the one you loved once so dearly and eventually harm your soul.
[But] whoso committeth adultery with a woman lacketh understanding: he [that] doeth it destroyeth his own soul. (PROVERBS 6:32)
Don’t think nor believe your actions are unseen. Be true to yourself and others.
The eye also of the adulterer waiteth for the twilight, saying, No eye shall see me: and disguiseth [his] face.( JOB 24:15)
But rather make effort to revive your marriage once again according to your solemn promise made with each other, that day before God.
Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, [and] rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers’ with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. [Let her be as] the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger? For the ways of man [are] before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings. (PROVERBS 5:15-21)
Be truthful because unfaithfulness can (and probably will) end the marriage.
The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying unto him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made [them] at the beginning made them male and female, And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh? Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. They say unto him, Why did Moses then command to give a writing of divorcement, and to put her away? He saith unto them, Moses because of the hardness of your hearts suffered you to put away your wives: but from the beginning it was not so. And I say unto you, Whosoever shall put away his wife, except [it be] for fornication, and shall marry another, committeth adultery: and whoso marrieth her which is put away doth commit adultery. (MATTHEW 19:3-9)
Do not be fooled nor play with fire! When you are tempted it will be hard to remain innocent.
For the commandment [is] a lamp; and the law [is] light; and reproofs of instruction [are] the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman. Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids. For by means of a whorish woman [a man is brought] to a piece of bread: and the adulteress will hunt for the precious life. Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned? So he that goeth in to his neighbour’s wife; whosoever toucheth her shall not be innocent. (PROVERBS 6:23-29)
A hard lesson even king David had to learn.
For those who are not married, but in a relationship nonetheless, it comes down to the same principles. Stay honest towards each other. True feelings of love is no toy.
If you realize that you have done great mischief, make wrong things right again with those concerned. Ask forgiveness to God, through Christ. He could give you a new chance, just like the adulterous woman.
And the scribes and Pharisees brought unto him a woman taken in adultery; and when they had set her in the midst, They say unto him, Master, this woman was taken in adultery, in the very act. Now Moses in the law commanded us, that such should be stoned: but what sayest thou? This they said, tempting him, that they might have to accuse him. But Jesus stooped down, and with [his] finger wrote on the ground, [as though he heard them not. ] So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her. And again he stooped down, and wrote on the ground. And they which heard [it,] being convicted by [their own] conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, [even] unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst. {8:10} When Jesus had lifted up himself, and saw none but the woman, he said unto her, Woman, where are those thine accusers? hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more. (JOHN 8:10-11 )
Build a solid family foundation and enjoy life instead!
Live joyfully with the wife whom thou lovest all the days of the life of thy vanity, which he hath given thee under the sun, all the days of thy vanity: for that [is] thy portion in [this] life, and in thy labour which thou takest under the sun. (ESSLESIASTES 9:9)
"Thou shalt not steal."
(EXODUS 20:15)
Depart from the ways of the sinners and thieves, for their feet run to evil. And there were evil is, there is no life.
Stolen waters are sweet, and bread [eaten] in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead [are] there; [and that] her guests [are] in the depths of hell. (PROVERBS 9:17-18)
Only fools hate the knowledge and reproof from God.
Whoso is partner with a thief hateth his own soul: he heareth cursing, and bewrayeth [it] not. (PROVERBS 29:24)
Scripture is very clear on this point. Don’t steel. Thus be trustworthy at all times. Eventually, all will eat the fruit of their own way. Be it good, or be it bad.
My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not. If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause: Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird. And they lay wait for their [own] blood; they lurk privily for their [own] lives. So [are] the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; [which] taketh away the life of the owners thereof. Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets: She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, [saying, ] How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge? Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you. Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh; When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you. Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me: For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices. For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them. But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil. (PROVERBS 1:10-33)
There is one exception.
[Men] do not despise a thief, if he steal to satisfy his soul when he is hungry; (PROVERBS 6:30)
Don’t deny nor withhold food for those who are really hungry(!) Hunger in the world is one of the greatest evils of mankind, fed by greed.
He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: but he that honoureth him hath mercy on the poor. (PROVERBS 14:31)
Recent study shows that 30 billion USD is enough to feed the entire world. Only a fraction of the +85 trillion USD of the Gross World Product. Or as little as a shameful 0.04% of our production is needed to provide food for all. Be separate from those who don’t care.
The wicked have drawn out the sword, and have bent their bow, to cast down the poor and needy, [and] to slay such as be of upright conversation. Their sword shall enter into their own heart, and their bows shall be broken. A little that a righteous man hath [is] better than the riches of many wicked. (PSALMS 37:14-16)
Are all those living the good life in a well-developed country actually not stealing from the poor and hungry in the world?
Rob not the poor, because he [is] poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate: For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them. (PROVERBS 22:22-23)
Not if they are willing to share and actually do.
Share your gifts received with others in need. Not as obligation, but because you really want to and do care. Let them find ways to climb up and find Jesus as well. Just as you have the privilege to find Him.
Do collect treasures … in heaven.
Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. (MATTHEW 6:19-21)
"Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour."
(EXODUS 20:16)
Lies can be tiny or large, it will ever remain a lie. Don’t Lie. Only harm can come out of it.
Let the lying lips be put to silence; which speak grievous things proudly and contemptuously against the righteous. (PSALMS 31:18)
A false witness shall not be unpunished, and he that speaketh lies shall perish. (PROVERBS 19:9)
Be honest and truthful at all times. This does not mean you need to be blunt when speaking the truth, but don’t cover-up the truth neither.
What man [is he that] desireth life, [and] loveth [many] days, that he may see good? Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile. Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it. The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry. The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. (PSALMS 34:12-16)
Honesty and meekness blended together will safeguard your integrity and keep respect.
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it [are] the issues of life. Put away from thee a forward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee. Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee. Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways (PROVERBS 4:23-26)
Most men will proclaim everyone his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? The just [man] walketh in his integrity: his children [are] blessed after him. (PROVERBS 20:6)
So refrain from speaking lies and deceitful ways.
A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies. A scorner seeketh wisdom, and [findeth it] not: but knowledge [is] easy unto him that understandeth. Go from the presence of a foolish man, when thou perceivest not [in him] the lips of knowledge. The wisdom of the prudent [is] to understand his way: but the folly of fools [is] deceit. Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous [there is] favour. (PROVERBS 14:5-9)
He that goeth about [as] a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips. (PROVERBS 20:19)
In the end, liars are only fooling themselves.
The words of a wise man’s mouth [are] gracious; but the lips of a fool will swallow up himself. The beginning of the words of his mouth [is] foolishness: and the end of his talk [is] mischievous madness. A fool also is full of words: a man cannot tell what shall be; and what shall be after him, who can tell him? The labour of the foolish wearieth every one of them, because he knoweth not how to go to the city. (ECCLESIASTES 10-12-15)
Never be afraid to tell the truth at all times, but do avoid long and dubious debates.
In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips [is] wise. The tongue of the just [is as] choice silver: the heart of the wicked [is] little worth. The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for want of wisdom. The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. (PROVERBS 10:19-22)
Wise and righteous men only need few words.
"Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour’s wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that [is] thy neighbour's."
(EXODUS 20:17)
Who has no feelings of envy from time to time towards others? It is quite natural. But it is a worldly feeling, controlled by thinking of the ‘flesh’ instead of thinking of ‘heavenly’ things with our eyes fixed upon Jesus, ‘the’ example to perfect our lives without envy.
Life is sometimes a struggle and seeing others prosper, seemingly without any trouble in their life, one sometimes wish to have a walk in their shoes.
A dangerous path. You just don’t know what’s behind the scenes and where their fruits come from.
They could lead you to apostasy.
Be not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them. For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief. (PROVERBS 24:1-2)
They could be self-centred and not without sin.
The rich man [is] wise in his own conceit; but the poor that hath understanding searcheth him out. (PROVERBS 28:11)
A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent. To have respect of persons [is] not good: for for a piece of bread [that] man will transgress. (PROVERBS 28:20-21)
Or they could actually turn out for the good and very generous, just as Zacchaeus? You just don’t know.
And [Jesus] entered and passed through Jericho. And, behold, [there was] a man named Zacchaeus, which was the chief among the publicans, and he was rich. And he sought to see Jesus who he was; and could not for the press, because he was little of stature. And he ran before, and climbed up into a sycomore tree to see him: for he was to pass that [way. ] And when Jesus came to the place, he looked up, and saw him, and said unto him, Zacchaeus, make haste, and come down; for today I must abide at thy house. And he made haste, and came down, and received him joyfully. And when they saw [it,] they all murmured, saying, That he was gone to be guest with a man that is a sinner. And Zacchaeus stood, and said unto the Lord; Behold, Lord, the half of my goods I give to the poor; and if I have taken anything from any man by false accusation, I restore [him] fourfold. And Jesus said unto him, This day is salvation come to this house, forsomuch as he also is a son of Abraham.(LUKE 19:1-9)
Only God knows why and why not, who and who not, when or how.
For all this I considered in my heart even to declare all this, that the righteous, and the wise, and their works, are in the hand of God: no man knoweth either love or hatred [by] all [that is] before them. All [things come] alike to all: [there is] one event to the righteous, and to the wicked; to the good and to the clean, and to the unclean; to him that sacrificeth, and to him that sacrificeth not: as [is] the good, so [is] the sinner; [and] he that sweareth, as [he] that feareth an oath. This [is] an evil among all [things] that are done under the sun, that [there is] one event unto all: yea, also the heart of the sons of men is full of evil, and madness is in their heart while they live, and after that [they go] to the dead. (ECCLESIASTES 9:1-3)
Do avoid also the opposite feeling of envy, feelings of relief when others, friend or even enemy, stumble or fall. A feeling whereby man could feel relief and be glad, because he’s not in the shoes of the unfortunate.
Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth: Lest the LORD see [it,] and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him. Fret not thyself because of evil [men,] neither be thou envious at the wicked; For there shall be no reward to the evil [man;] the candle of the wicked shall be put out. (PROVERBS 24:17-40)
But what is the best formulae? Neither rich nor poor.
Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny [thee,] and say, Who [is] the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God [in vain. (PROVERBS 30:8-9)
Be content with what the Father has bestowed upon you as your personal life path to perfect and grow your character upon His liking. Only He knows what is the best for us. In the end, destiny comes for everyone, be thy rich or poor.
I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race [is] not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor yet riches to men of understanding, nor yet favour to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all. For man also knoweth not his time: as the fishes that are taken in an evil net, and as the birds that are caught in the snare; so [are] the sons of men snared in an evil time, when it falleth suddenly upon them. (ECCLESIASTES 9:11-12)
Know that happiness from the outside (appearance) is no guarantee for happiness on the inside (heart) and vice versa. Do your work in all honesty, stay true to yourself and God, don’t envy others.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivereth from death. The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casteth away the substance of the wicked. He becometh poor that dealeth [with] a slack hand: but the hand of the diligent maketh rich. He that gathereth in summer [is] a wise son: [but] he that sleepeth in harvest [is] a son that causeth shame. (PROVERBS 10:2-5)
Better [is] the poor that walketh in his uprightness, than [he that is] perverse [in his] ways, though he [be] rich. (PROVERBS 28:6)
Be well aware that money cannot buy real happiness. It can surely help, but can never be a goal for it is all vanity.
The wise man’s eyes [are] in his head; but the fool walketh in darkness: and I myself perceived also that one event happeneth to them all. Then said I in my heart, As it happeneth to the fool, so it happeneth even to me; and why was I then more wise? Then I said in my heart, that this also [is] vanity. For [there is] no remembrance of the wise more than of the fool for ever; seeing that which now [is] in the days to come shall all be forgotten. And how dieth the wise [man?] as the fool. Therefore I hated life; because the work that is wrought under the sun is grievous unto me: for all [is] vanity and vexation of spirit. Yea, I hated all my labour which I had taken under the sun: because I should leave it unto the man that shall be after me. And who knoweth whether he shall be a wise [man] or a fool? yet shall he have rule over all my labour wherein I have laboured, and wherein I have shewed myself wise under the sun. This [is] also vanity. (ECCLESIASTES 2:14-19)
Don’t make an idol of money. A mistake made by many in the world, creating a significant hurdle for themselves and very difficult to take.
Or to quote Jesus:
Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard [it,] they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld [them,] and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible. (MATTHEW 19:23-26)
Rich or poor, no one will escape the true test of character. Everyone has different trails and rest assured, God can (and will) judge each way.
So do not envy others, because also this is evil. Anger and wrath will only make you fall.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass. Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil. For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth. (PSALMS 37:7-9)
"A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all [men] know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another."
(JOHN 13:34-35)
How the world would be a better place if all people would care more for each other? Although love and care for one another did already form the backbone of God’s eternal laws given to men, true compassion was certainly not practiced by many. Even not by those who proclaimed to be true commandment keepers but moreover exalted self. For this specific reason, Lord Jesus did add this commandment very clearly.
Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and [that] your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you. These things I command you, that ye love one another. (JOHN 15:16-17)
Not everyone has the same birth privileges, some are or became sick and cannot help themselves, others miss the warmth of a loving family or friends.
Withhold not good from them to whom it is due, when it is in the power of thine hand to do [it. ] Say not unto thy neighbour, Go, and come again, and tomorrow I will give; when thou hast it by thee. Devise not evil against thy neighbour, seeing he dwelleth securely by thee. Strive not with a man without cause, if he have done thee no harm. Envy thou not the oppressor, and choose none of his ways. For the froward [is] abomination to the LORD: but his secret [is] with the righteous. The curse of the LORD [is] in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools. (PROVERBS 3:27-35)
He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: but he that hath mercy on the poor, happy [is] he. Do they not err that devise evil? but mercy and truth [shall be] to them that devise good. In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips [tendeth] only to penury. (PROVERBS 14:21-23)
Nowadays many elder or lonely people might need help as well. Listen to their needs. Sometimes a warm welcome or small chat can do wonders already.
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat [him] as a father; [and] the younger men as brethren; The elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity. Honour widows that are widows indeed. (1 TIMOTHY 5:1-3)
Do help those who cross your path and need help.
Don’t close your eyes.
He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse. (PROVERBS 28:27)
Because maybe one day, you could be in need yourself …
Whoso stoppeth his ears at the cry of the poor, he also shall cry himself, but shall not be heard. (PROVERBS 21:13)
Help. And when you do, help with true intentions and seek no gain, nor gratitude’s from men. For it will be the Father who sees it all and give reward when He sees fit.
Take heed that ye do not your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. Therefore when thou doest [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret himself shall reward thee openly. (MATTHEW 6:1-4)
Be aware that good works will not save you, only Christ can give salvation. Nevertheless, those who are in Christ, will produce good fruits …
Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to [our] father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham. And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. (LUKE 3:8-9)
[This is] a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. (TITUS 3:8-9)
Please do care for each other.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed [the poor,] and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing. Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil; Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth; Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things. Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things. For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity. (1 CORINTHIANS 13:1-13)
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
(JOHN 14:6)
Jesus came into this world for our salvation.
Only He can take away our sins before the Father and give us eternal life. Jesus gave up His own life for those who are willing to be saved and repent from their sinful ways. Do good, follow His Fathers’ commandments, knock on His door, seek Him. He will open the door for you and make sure you will find your way.
But do make sure you knock.
For those thinking they are doing good, but have no faith in Him? Or those not even trying to seek Him while they had ample of opportunity to do so? Or those self-professed faithful without actually believing and bearing false fruits?
They could be in for quite a surprise.
Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them, Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able. When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are: Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets. But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all [ye] workers of iniquity. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you [yourselves] thrust out. And they shall come from the east, and [from] the west, and from the north, and [from] the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God. And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last. (LUKE 13:23-30)
Jesus Christ shall reign over the coming kingdom as the King of all of God’s chosen people. He is truly, the one and only Son of God, our only hope.
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob forever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (LUKE 1:32-33)
You don’t believe in Jesus nor in the New Testament?
First read the New Testament very carefully, before you walk away. Only a fool would not investigate and reject without even knowing and make sure he chooses the right path. Take your Old Testament alongside and do consider following prophecies upon the Messiah, fulfilments only made by Jesus Christ.
Let us study a few of them.
1. Messiah’s birth
[OT – prophecy]
Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. (Isaiah 7:14)
[NT – fulfilment]
Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us. Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife: And knew her not till she had brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS. (MATTHEW 1:23-25)
2. His birthplace
[OT – prophecy]
But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, [though] thou be little among the thousands of Judah, [yet] out of thee shall he come forth unto me [that is] to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth [have been] from of old, from everlasting. (MICAH 5:2)
[NT – fulfilment]
Now when Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judaea in the days of Herod the king, behold, there came wise men from the east to Jerusalem, Saying, Where is he that is born King of the Jews? for we have seen his star in the east, and are come to worship him. When Herod the king had heard [these things,] he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And when he had gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people together, he demanded of them where Christ should be born. And they said unto him, In Bethlehem of Judaea: for thus it is written by the prophet, And thou Bethlehem, in the land of Juda, art not the least among the princes of Juda: for out of thee shall come a Governor, that shall rule my people Israel.(MATTHEW 2:1-6)
3. Healing wonders
[OT – prophecy]
Strengthen ye the weak hands, and confirm the feeb heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come [with] vengeance, [even] God [with] a recompence; he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame [man] leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing: for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.le knees. Say to them [that are] of a fearful (ISAIAH 35:3-4)
[NT – fulfilment]
And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people. (MATTHEW 9:35)
4. Ride on a donkey
[OT – prophecy]
Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he [is] just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt the foal of an ass. (Zechariah 9:9)
[NT – fulfilment]
And they brought him to Jesus: and they cast their garments upon the colt, and they set Jesus thereon. And as he went, they spread their clothes in the way. And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed [be] the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out. (LUKE 19:35-40)
5. Betrayed by a friend
[OT – prophecy]
Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up [his] heel against me. (PSALMS 41:9)
[NT – fulfilment]
Simon the Canaanite, and Judas Iscariot, who also betrayed him. (MATTHEW 10:4)
6. 30 pieces of silver and the potter
[OT – prophecy]
And I took my staff, [even] Beauty, and cut it asunder, that I might break my covenant which I had made with all the people. And it was broken in that day: and so the poor of the flock that waited upon me knew that it [was] the word of the LORD. And I said unto them, If ye think good, give [me] my price; and if not, forbear. So they weighed for my price thirty [pieces] of silver. And the LORD said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty [pieces] of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the LORD. Then I cut asunder mine other staff, [even] Bands, that I might break the brotherhood between Judah and Israel. ( Zechariah 11:10-14)
[NT – fulfilment]
Then Judas, which had betrayeth him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What [is that] to us? See thou [to that. ] And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood. And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in. Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day. Then was fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, And they took the thirty pieces of silver, the price of him that was valued, whom they of the children of Israel did value; And gave them for the potter’s field, as the Lord appointed me. (MATTHEW 27:3-10)
7. Messiah’s silence when accused (a wilful sacrifice, the Lamb of God)
[OT – prophecy]
He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth. (ISAIAH 53:7-9)
[NT – fulfilment]
And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. Then said Pilate unto him, Hearest thou not how many things they witness against thee? And he answered him to never a word; insomuch that the governor marvelled greatly. Now at [that] feast the governor was wont to release unto the people a prisoner, whom they would. And they had then a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. When he was set down on the judgment seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that just man: for I have suffered many things this day in a dream because of him. But the chief priests and elders persuaded the multitude that they should ask Barabbas, and destroy Jesus. The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? [They] all say unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified. (MATTHEW 27:12)
8. Messiah’s affliction
[OT – prophecy]
But he [was] wounded for our transgressions, [he was] bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace [was] upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. (ISAIAH 53:5)
[NT – fulfilment]
Then released he Barabbas unto them: and when he had scourged Jesus, he delivered [him] to be crucified. Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the common hall, and gathered unto him the whole band [of soldiers. ] And they stripped him, and put on him a scarlet robe. And when they had platted a crown of thorns, they put [it] upon his head, and a reed in his right hand: and they bowed the knee before him, and mocked him, saying, Hail, King of the Jews! And they spit upon him, and took the reed, and smote him on the head. And after that they had mocked him, they took the robe off from him, and put his own raiment on him, and led him away to crucify [him. ] (MATTHEW 27:26-31)
9. Messiah’s crucifixion
[OT – prophecy]
For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (PSALMS 22:16)
[NT – fulfilment]
And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. (LUKE 23:33)
10. Killed among thieves
[OT – prophecy]
Therefore will I divide him [a portion] with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors. (ISAIAH 53:12)
[NT – fulfilment]
Then were there two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left. (MATTHEW 27:38)
11. Messiah’s clothes divided by casting lots
[OT – prophecy]
They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (PSALMS 22:18)
[NT – fulfilment]
And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots. (MATTHEW 27:35)
12. Vinegar to drink
[OT – prophecy]
They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink. (PSALMS 69:21)
[NT – fulfilment]
They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted [thereof,] he would not drink. (MATTHEW 27:34)
13. No bones broken
[OT – prophecy]
The eyes of the LORD [are] upon the righteous, and his ears [are open] unto their cry. The face of the LORD [is] against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth. [The righteous] cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. The LORD [is] nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many [are] the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. He keepeth all his bones: not one of them is broken. Evil shall slay the wicked: and they that hate the righteous shall be desolate. The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate. (PSALMS 34:15-22)
[NT – fulfilment]
But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs: But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water. And he that saw [it] bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe. For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken. And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced. (JOHN 19:33-37)
14. Buried in a rich mans grave
[OT – prophecy]
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither [was any] deceit in his mouth. (ISAIAH 53:9)
[NT – fulfilment]
When the even was come, there came a rich man of Arimathaea, named Joseph, who also himself was Jesus’ disciple: He went to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus. Then Pilate commanded the body to be delivered. And when Joseph had taken the body, he wrapped it in a clean linen cloth, And laid it in his own new tomb, which he had hewn out in the rock: and he rolled a great stone to the door of the sepulchre, and departed. (MATTHEW 27:57-60)
The likelihood of someone, without being sent by God, fulfilling all of the biblical prophecies, is zero. Actually, Jesus fulfilled even up to 60 prophecies from the Old Testament. Seek out further study and verify yourself.
Did the Hebrew at those days not receive a sign when their Messiah would be coming? Couldn’t they study the Old Testament and understand?
Yes they could.
But they were expecting a king with instant solution for all their problems. A king who could fight off all those who oppressed them. Actually, they were for the lookout of a worldly king. Jesus came to heal the sick and poor. He came for those who were true at heart and needed salvation from this world filled with transgressors. Jesus came for the needy, desperately seeking redemption and help from God.
Those days, their leaders were not ready for the divine plan of God. Pride, self-exaltation above others and politically influenced High Priests. This is no true character worthy of representing the heavenly courts. They truly missed example. Jesus came to this world without his heavenly powers, opening the eyes of the blind. If they could only have seen then. But then, it was also predicted in the Old Testament as we read in Isaiah chapter 53.
The prophecy was fulfilled. The Word from God is never void and always true.
Unfortunately still today, Chapter 8 & 9 of the prophet Daniel is quite problematic for them to study and explain … it is not difficult to find out why.
Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy. Know therefore and understand, [that] from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince [shall be] seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof [shall be] with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make [it] desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. (DANIEL 9:24-27)
Elaborating on all Daniel's prophecies and all its elements, would take this overview way too far. There is already a lot of sound study material out there to help you understand very well, but do make sure to stay true to scripture with no room for erratic interpretation. Study the book of Daniel in every detail and pray for guidance. Take your time to fully comprehend the matter.

Summary note: Daniel
Will they never open their eyes to realise that Jesus Christ, is the Messiah?
Of course not.
They will. But they will first need to gain genuine faith in God’s plan of redemption, through His Son Jesus Christ. Hopefully before the second coming. Let our prayers be with them.
And what about those out there who still belief that Jesus Christ was not the Son of God, but only a Great Prophet?
Surely you must know that prophets can never lie? For as a so-called prophet would lie, he would not be a true prophet. Correct?
So did Jesus proclaim Himself that He was the Christ, the Son of God?
Of course He did.
And the high priest arose, and said unto him, Answerest thou nothing? what [is it which] these witness against thee? But Jesus held his peace. And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God. Jesus saith unto him, Thou hast said: nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven. (MATTHEW 26:62-64)
The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am [he. (JOHN 4:25-26)
And for those who believe Jesus was only one of the great Masters, just like Buddha, Dalai Lama or other spiritual teachers? Let it be very clear. We are all born as children of God, but only Jesus is the one and only Son of God. The Christ for all kingdoms on this earth, even darkness knows this.
And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking [them] suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ. And when it was day, he departed and went into a desert place: and the people sought him, and came unto him, and stayed him, that he should not depart from them. And he said unto them, I must preach the kingdom of God to other cities also: for therefore am I sent. (LUKE 4:41-43)
And again, if He truly was merely just one of the spiritual leaders send by God to help mankind? He would be a liar and couldn’t be called a great Master. So make up your mind and choose.
Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness. If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you [of] heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, [even] the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved. But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God. After these things came Jesus and his disciples into the land of Judaea; and there he tarried with them, and baptized. (JOHN 3:10-22)
If you tend to accept Jesus only at the same level of other self-professed “enlightened” Masters? You have no genuine faith in Him.
Put away false teachings of man. Have true faith in Jesus Christ, because only those who believe in Him with their whole heart, soul, strength and wisdom, can be saved through His sacrifice.
Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before my Father which is in heaven. But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father which is in heaven. Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. And a man’s foes [shall be] they of his own household. He that loveth father or mother more than me is not worthy of me: and he that loveth son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me. And he that taketh not his cross, and followeth after me, is not worthy of me. He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it. (MATTHEW 10:32-39)
Be and remain justified by your faith.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God. And not only [so,] but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. (ROMANS 5:1-5)
Jesus came to give us a choice, a choice between right and wrong, a choice between good and evil. There is no middle way.
He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth. (LUKE 11:23)
Jesus gave up His life, so you can gain yours. He was ‘the’ greatest gift given to all mankind from God. A Holy gift. A gift to eternal life. A second chance for man.
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (JOHN 3:16)
Life is full of pitfalls and maybe you feel lost? Maybe you never knew or didn’t care before …
Be happy that you still have time to follow Jesus. Just like a good Shepherd, He will take care of you. He promises.
For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost. How think ye? if a man have an hundred sheep, and one of them be gone astray, doth he not leave the ninety and nine, and goeth into the mountains, and seeketh that which is gone astray? And if so be that he find it, verily I say unto you, he rejoiceth more of that [sheep,] than of the ninety and nine which went not astray. Even so it is not the will of your Father which is in heaven, that one of these little ones should perish. (MATTHEW 18:11-14)
Be good and kind as He will recognise His’ people.
I am the good shepherd, and know my [sheep,] and am known of mine. As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep. And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, [and] one shepherd. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. (JOHN 10:14-18)
Jesus will never disappoint you. Hold on and believe. He will take care for you because no one who truly seek Him, will be lost.
All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. (JOHN 6:37-40)
Jesus and the Father are together. As said before, being saved by Christ, being in Christ, is also doing like Christ … Obey Father’s commandments so He will notice you.
I and [my] Father are one. (JOHN 10:30)
No man can come to me, except the Father which hath sent me draw him: and I will raise him up at the last day. It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me. Not that any man hath seen the Father, save he which is of God, he hath seen the Father. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life. I am that bread of life. (JOHN 6:44-48)
Don’t be deceived by false Christ’s’ out there in the world. Many nowadays profess to be Christ or followers, but do not bear good fruits. Signs and wonders will be used in the end times by the Great Deceiver Satan, as well. Don’t be fooled.
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here [is] Christ, or there; believe [it] not. For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if [it were] possible, they shall deceive the very elect. Behold, I have told you before. Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, [he is] in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe [it] not. For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.(MATTHEW 24:23-27)
For Jesus Christ will not even touch His feet upon this earth when He returns! He will not come secretly neither. Unexpected like a thief? Yes. But not secretly. All eyes will be able to see Him and with a great shout!
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. (1 THESSALONIANS 4:15-18)
Behold, he cometh with clouds; and every eye shall see him, and they [also] which pierced him: and all kindreds of the earth shall wail because of him. Even so, Amen. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. (REVELATION 1:7-8)
Be aware, nobody knows when He returns. Only the Father knows.
But of that day and [that] hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father. Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. (MARK 13:32-33)
Walk in Jesus footsteps, become a true follower of His example. Search and study the bible. Pray to the Father in the name of Jesus to make you strong.
Blessed [are] the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD. Blessed [are] they that keep his testimonies, [and that] seek him with the whole heart. They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways. Thou hast commanded [us] to keep thy precepts diligently. O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes! Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments. I will praise thee with uprightness of heart, when I shall have learned thy righteous judgments. I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly. Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed [thereto] according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee. Blessed [art] thou, O LORD: teach me thy statutes. With my lips have I declared all the judgments of thy mouth. I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies, as [much as] in all riches. I will meditate in thy precepts, and have respect unto thy ways. I will delight myself in thy statutes: I will not forget thy word. (PSALMS 119:1-8)
Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus and do good.
I cannot express this more. Jesus’ sacrifice, The Lamb of God, nailed the ceremonial (offering) laws on the cross, when type met anti-type. But don’t be mistaken, the commandments of God written in stone with His own finger, laid within the ark of the covenant to be revealed at the end of times, serving as the true benchmark for every character and final judgement, is and will, never be abolished.
Don’t say you didn’t know ... that day before God.
Keep the commandments of the Father, that you may have right to the tree of life.
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still. And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward [is] with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. Blessed [are] they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without [are] dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, [and] the bright and morning star. And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. (REVELATION 22:11-17)
Pray that you may receive all strength from God, through Jesus Christ, to withstand Satan’s temptations. May your trails be met with heavenly power from God, “the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”, for He will know and protect His people.
If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; [Even] the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. At that day ye shall know that I [am] in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (JOHN 14:15-21)
Let’s follow the real head of the church, which is Christ only, and join Him.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also [is] Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether [we be] Jews or Gentiles, whether [we be] bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is not one member, but many. (1 CORINTHIANS 12:12-14)
Seek a church in your country that truly follows His Word. You know now what to pay attention for. Study the bible and let yourself be baptized whenever you feel ready. Just as Jesus did as example for those who would like to follow Him. There is still time for you if you can read this.
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and [of] the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. (JOHN 3:5-7)
Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, [even] as many as the Lord our God shall call. (ACTS 2:38-39)
Form your character upon His liking and let no one fool you. Retain well, that there is no man walking on this earth to claim he has received a mandate from God as His replacement. No man nor church nor doctrine that stands above the Holy Word of God. Take His authentic Word as your only and true guide.
And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ. (Revelation 12:17)
I am sure you will succeed when having true faith in Him and following His example. Do spread His Word and seek out others in the world you may help as well! ... and remember
